President lauds Govtâ€™s measures for progress, prosperity
Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Shahbaz Sharif apprise Mamnoon Hussain of development projects.
President Mamnoon Hussain has appreciated the development and welfare measures taken by the government which have also been acknowledged on international level.
He was talking to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who called on him in Lahore today (Sunday). They apprised him of development projects in the province.
The Chief Minister said, the primary objective of the PML-N government is to uplift the socio-economic lot of the people, for which all the promises and the party manifesto will be materialized.
He said rehabilitation process of the Nandipur Power Project near Gujranwala is speedily in progress with cooperation of China and the power generation is expected to begin soon.
The Quaid-i-Azam Solar Power Project at nearly 1000 acres in Cholistan near Bahawalpur is also expected to start production this year.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif informed that during his recent visit to China along with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, an agreement has been finalized for establishing two coal-run power projects in Sahiwal.
The Chief Minister also informed the President that China has assured to execute a mono light rail transit system, named “Orange Line”, in Lahore.
