Partial results reveal that former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah is leading the Afghan presidential elections.

Election Commission, in a statement, said initial results based on 10 percent of the vote from 26 out of 34 provinces showed that Abdullah Abdullah is leading with 41.9 percent votes.

It says Ashraf Ghani with 37.6 percent votes is on second position.

The chairman of the Election Commission, however, made it clear that this is not the final result.
