India is considering restricting imports of some products from Malaysia including palm oil in reaction to its stance on Kashmir dispute.

The Indian government was angered after Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad said at the United Nations last month that India had invaded occupied Kashmir and asked New Delhi to work with Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

Indian media quoted officials, who participated in discussions led by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on the proposed restrictions, saying that India was looking for ways to limit palm oil imports and might place restrictions on other goods from Malaysia.

Officials also said that Indian government is also planning some restrictions on imports from Turkey, as Ankara had issued repeated statements on Kashmir.
