In the United States, the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee has issued a subpoena to Trump Administration's special Afghanistan envoy, Zalmay Khalilzad to appear before the panel next week to explain the failure of US-Taliban talks.

In a statement, the Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Representative Eliot Engel said we need to hear directly from the administration's envoy on Afghanistan to understand how this process went fail.
