In India, at least 64 children died due to encephalitis in state of Bihar.

The deaths have taken place in the past 12 days.

Casualties have been reported from Muzaffarpur,Samastipur and Vaishali districts with highest number of casualties in Muzaffarpur.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar admitted that acute Encephalitis Syndrome cases recurred because awareness campaign was not done properly.
