PM-JHAGRA

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has reiterated commitment for merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 

He was talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in Islamabad on Thursday.

 

The Prime Minister said that work on creating an enabling environment and taking required legal and administrative measures for the purpose was being done on fast track basis.

 

Overall situation in the province and steps being taken for mainstreaming of FATA were discussed during the meeting.

 

Developmental projects in the province also came under discussion.

Election Commission of Pakistan has issued non-bailable arrest warrant against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

 

Announcing its decision in contempt of court case against Imran Khan, the Commission directed that the PTI Chairman should be produced before it on 26th of this month.             

 

SHAHBAZ

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that continuity of democratic system is imperative for development in the country.

 

In a statement on Thursday, he said 12th of October is remembered as black day in the history of the country when a dictator in 1999 derailed democracy and halted the process of development.

 

Chief Minister said PLM-N government is striving hard for the development of the county.                           

 

BUSES

Punjab Mass transit Authority started running new buses on feeder routes for Multan Metro Bus service from on Thursday.  

 

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the Metro Speedo Bus service.

 

In first phase of the project, 11 feeder routes have been added to the Multan Metro bus System operating 100 air conditioned buses.

International Islamic News Agency, a specialized media organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is holding a two day meeting of its Executive Council and General Assembly in Jeddah on Friday. 

 

The meeting will explore the plan to enhance the Agency’s work and transform it into a union.

 

Agenda items also include the supportive role of Member States’ news agencies to the cause of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif and achieving greater joint action among these agencies.

 

The participants will also discuss the news agencies’ role in countering terrorism and Islamophobic narrative.

In a statement issued in Srinagar, he said security forces personnel during their raids resort to loot and humiliate women and elderly.

Palestinian groups Hamas and Fatah have reached a deal over political reconciliation.

 

Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement on Thursday that both groups reached an agreement upon a mediation by Egypt.

 

A Hamas official told Reuters that details are expected to be released at a news conference in Cairo.

 

Egypt has helped the two movements to form a power-sharing unity government in Gaza and the West Bank.

China has urged European Union to abide by World Trade Organization's requirements regarding its imports.

 

At a regular briefing in Beijing, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Gao Feng said that the European Union’s new trade rules lack awareness of WTO rules.                               

 

US-FIRE

In the United States, wild fire in California has yet not been controlled leaving at least 23 people dead and thousands homeless.

 

More than 200 fire engines and firefighting crews are engaged to overcome the critical situation.                            

 

HOCKEY

In the 10th Asia Cup Hockey tournament, two match are being played on Thursday.

 

The first Pool-B match will be played between Malaysia and China while in the second match South Korea will take on Oman.

 

Pakistan will play their second match against Japan on Friday.
