Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has reiterated commitment for merger of FATA with Khyber Pkahtunkhwa. He was talking to Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in Islamabad on Thursday. He said that wok on creating an enabling environment and taking required legal and administrative measures for the purpose was being done on fast track basis. Overall situation in the province and steps being taken for mainstreaming of FATA were discussed during the meeting. Developmental projects in the province also came under discussion.

War against terrorism - Armed forces successfully eliminated sanctuaries of terrorists: DG ISPR 

DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor has said that there are no safe havens in the country as our armed forces have successfully eliminated their sanctuaries. Addressing at Karachi University on Thursday, he said fundamentalism even exist in west and India as it has various forms. He said that geographically global economy is linked with Pakistan.

Pakistan ready to work with US for peace, security in region: Interior Minister

Ahsan Iqbal has reaffirmed Pakistan's readiness to work with the United States as a partner for achieving peace and security in the region. He was addressing a gathering of students, academicians, think tank analysts, and media persons in Washington. He said Pakistan desires a broader and comprehensive partnership with the United States, beyond security and particularly in the education sector. 

Pakistan calls for serious negotiated settlement b/w Afghan government, Taliban for peace in Afghanistan

Pakistan has called for making serious efforts for negotiated settlement between Afghan government and Taliban for achieving lasting peace in Afghanistan. This was stated by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua while speaking at a meeting of the SCO Contact Group on Afghanistan in Moscow. She also emphasized the importance of early return of Afghan refugees and combating drug production and trafficking which continued to affect stability of Afghanistan and the region.

Hamas says reached deal with Palestinian rival Fatah

China protests to US over sail-by in disputed waters
China said on Wednesday it has lodged a protest with the United States after an American warship sailed near disputed islands in the South China Sea. The US Navy missile destroyer Chafee entered into China’s territorial waters near the Paracel Islands on Tuesday, according to Beijing’s foreign ministry. China immediately dispatched military vessels and aircraft for identification and warned the US ship to leave, ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a regular briefing.
