Introduction of new rice varieties in collaboration with China to help improve export of rice: Bosan
Minister for National Food Security and Research says good quality seed is pre-requisite to increase per acre yield.
Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Bosan has said that introduction of new rice varieties in collaboration with China will help improve export of rice from the country.
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of the Training Course on Hybrid Rice Technology in Islamabad on Thursday.
The Minister said good quality seed is pre-requisite to increase per acre yield.
He said the government will continue making all out efforts to increase rice production in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Pakistan Agriculture Research Council, Dr. Yusuf Zafar said that cooperation, between Pakistan and China under CPEC has enabled Pakistan to export hybrid rice seeds for the first time in the country's agriculture history.
Secretary Chinese Embassy Dr. Liu Shijie showed his full support and commitment for the betterment of Agriculture Sector in Pakistan.
