A suicide bombing near the convoy of Deputy Chairman Senate in Mastung today left twenty five people dead.

Prime Minister is in Beijing to attend two-day "Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation" beginning on Sunday.

Twenty-five people were martyred and forty-two others, including Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, injured in a suicide bomb attack in Mastung today.

The blast occurred near the convoy of Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.


President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the incident.     

In a statement, the President reiterated the resolve to continue war on terror to provide protection to the masses by eradicating the menace from the country.

Prime Minister prayed for swift recovery of the injured, including Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.


Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam -F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has expressed firm determination to carry forward the mission of national unity and peace in the country.

He was talking to media persons along with Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani in Islamabad today.

JUI-F Chief said cowardily acts like Mastung attack cannot demoralise the nation.



Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has arrived in China to attend the two-day "Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation" beginning in Beijing on Sunday.

He is accompanied by a high level delegation comprising four chief ministers and Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Saad Rafique, Khurram Dastgir, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State Anusha Rehman and Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

Prime Minister will attend the inaugural session of the summit and the plenary meeting of high-level dialogue and the state banquet.

He will also attend the leaders' roundtable sessions on second day of the forum.

Nawaz Sharif will also hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Kaqiang to further promote bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.    


Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor will be a leading project during the Belt and Road Forum being held in China.

In a statement today he said several agreements will be signed between Pakistan and China during the forum.


Minister for Railways Saad Rafique has said the flagship "One Belt, One Road Forum" will help Pakistan improve its connectivity sector, particularly railways.

In an interview, Railways Minister said "One Belt One Road" vision of Chinese President Xi Jinping is a mega project aimed at developing a strong connectivity in the region.

He said the vision was joined by Pakistan under the umbrella of CPEC.


Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan held a meeting with British High Commissioner Thomas Drew in Islamabad today and discussed matters of mutual interest.

The two sides expressed resolve to further strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

Interior Minister emphasized the early implementation of decisions mde during the visit of British Home Secretary to Pakistan in March this year.


Minister for Water and Power Khawja Muhammad Asif has said that first largest coal-fired power plant of the country Sahiwal plant has been operationalized.

In a tweet message, he said that first unit of the 1320 MW power plant has started tentative production prior to its stipulated completion time and it has also been connected with national grid.


A Sautul Quran Channel FM 93.4 of Radio Pakistan will start its regular transmission from 1st of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

This Channel will broadcast the recitation of Holy Quran in the voices of renowned Qura with Urdu translation for 19 hours daily.


A high level security meeting of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Resolute Support Mission  held in Rawalpindi today discussed measures for improving military to military coordination and operation.

The Afghan delegation was led by its Director General Military Operations Major General Habib Hesari, Major General Christopher Haas represented Resolute Support Mission while Pakistan was represented by DGMO Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

During the trilateral meeting, the delegates stressed the need to defeat Daesh through concerted efforts.

Later, during the bilateral meeting of Pak- Afghan officials, Chaman incident, border control and management and measures to curb cross-border violations and firing were also discussed.

Both sides agreed to enhance bilateral interactions at multiple tiers through different  channels.


Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to enhance cooperation in diverse spheres.

This was decided during the third round of the two-day Pak-Belarus Bilateral Political Consultations, held in Minsk.

The Pakistan side was led by Ambassador Zaheer A. Janjua, while Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Rybakov headed the Belarus delegation.

The two sides undertook a comprehensive review of bilateral ties and decided to boost cooperation in diverse fields including economy, trade, energy, agriculture, IT, defence and parliamentary exchanges.


Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has asked political forces to show patience while commenting on Joint Investigation Team formed by the Supreme Court on Panama Papers.

Winding up discussion on a motion moved by Leader of the Opposition and others in the Senate today, the Minister said Prime Minister had voluntarily presented himself and his family for accountability following allegations levelled in the Panama Papers.

He said nobody, including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, is above the law and he will appear before the JIT if needed.


The Election Commission of Pakistan has linked more than seventy thousand proposed polling stations with Google Map.

This was informed during a meeting held in Islamabad today with Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza in the chair.

This link will help the voters to find map of polling stations, location and distance from their residence online to cast their vote.

In occupied Kashmir, forceful demonstrations rocked the Kashmir valley today against the use of brute force on students and grave human rights violations by Indian security forces.

According to Kashmir Media Service, people took to the streets in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Sopore, Pattan, Baramulla, Islamabad, Pulwama, and other areas. 

Indian troops and police personnel fired teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators. Several protesters were injured in the brutal actions of the Indian forces.


Russia says it is ready to play a constructive role in resolving North Korea's nuclear threat.

This was expressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a phone call to his newly elected South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in.

South Korean President said he will endeavour to begin talks quickly between the two Koreas, as well as the six-party dialogue.
