Russia‚ US agree to continue consultations on Ukraine crisis
US House of Representatives pass resolution condemning Russia’s violation of Ukraine sovereignty.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry spoke by telephone and agreed to continue consultations on Ukraine crisis.
The Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement said both the leaders exchanged views on concrete proposals from Russia and the United States to ensure peace and harmony in Ukraine .
Meanwhile‚ the US House of Representatives passed a resolution condemning Russia’s violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and calling for Russian sanctions.
According to Representative Ed Royce and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee‚ the resolution is an important part of a larger effort to aid Ukraine and impose real cost on Russia‚ which was unanimously passed by the House.
The resolution says that the US is keenly interest in making Ukraine a democratic and prosperous State.
