The day is aimed at focusing on global extent of child labour and action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
The theme of the day this year is "In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour".
A UNICEF report says that over one hundred and fifty million children across the world are engaged in child labour.
In Pakistan a number of laws have been passed against child labour.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif says child labour is a social and economic issue and all of us must focus on it to overcome it.
In his message in connection with World Day Against Child Labour, he said effective legislation has been done in Punjab to uproot the menace of child labour from the province.
