Analysts voice concern over continued curfew and communication blackout in Occupied Kashmir
August 12, 2019

Syed Fakhar Imam (Kashmir Committee Chairman):

Indian annexation of occupied Kashmir is illegal and violation of international laws. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is following the philosophy of Gujrat massacre. Indian troops are committing massive human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan will take up the Kashmir issue at United Nations Security Council and it will support Kashmiris at every forum. All political parties of Pakistan are united when it comes to Kashmir issue and joint parliament session is a proof.

Abdullah Gul (Defense Expert):

The world must understand that India is on the wrong side of the history. It is high time to give India a shut up message with strong voice. The government of Pakistan cannot compromise on Kashmir issue at any cost. It is right decision of the government to downgrade diplomatic ties with India. It is high time for international community to intervene and resolve the matter on immediate basis. The international community seems quiet on the issue and not taking enough steps to exert pressure on India.

Shamim Shawl: (Leader, Kashmir Tehreek Khawateen):

Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory. The Kashmir dispute is the oldest unresolved international conflict in the world today. Pakistan considers Kashmir as its core political dispute with India. So does the international community, except India. India claims to have ‘signed' a controversial document, the Instrument of Accession, on 26 October 1947 with the Maharaja of Kashmir, in which the Maharaja obtained India's military help against popular insurgency. The people of Kashmir and Pakistan do not accept the Indian claim. India itself took the matter at UN and committed to hold plebiscite in Held Kashmir but violated the UN resolutions. Indian recent move to revoke Article 370 of its constitution is a violation of international laws. India should reciprocate positively to Pakistan’s sincere offer of talks.

Dr. Masoom Yasinzai (Rector, International Islamic University, Islamabad): I congratulate nation and whole Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eidul Azha. The passion to sacrifice is inevitable for any nation’s development as it enables a person to remain steadfast and brave enough against any ordeal or tough circumstances. There has always been the need to highlight the sublime desire of sacrifice, but in the present day, its importance had increased manifold. Eid-ul-Azha reminds the Muslims of the unprecedented obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and submission by Hazrat Ismail (AS) to the will of Allah Almighty.
