Sudan protesters agree to end civil disobedience campaign

Sudan protest leaders have agreed to end civil disobedience campaign after crackdown on demonstrators.   

Talking to newsmen in Khartoum, Ethiopia’s special envoy to Sudan Mahmoud Dirir said, the ruling military council and an alliance of opposition groups have agreed to resume talks on the formation of a transitional sovereign council.

He said Sudan's military council also agreed to release political prisoners as a confidence-building measure.

Meanwhile, The United Nations has also called for an end to violence in Sudan and the resumption of dialogue between protesters and the ruling Transitional Military Council.
