Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has approved for the up-gradation of sports complexes and completion of new sports schemes for the promotion of sports in the province.
According to the officials , the up-gradation of the Sports Complexes at Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and Haripur is underway besides completion of the new schemes with the aim to promote sports in all across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The new schemes include construction of sports hostel in the Mardan along with up-gradation of cricket ground, basketball, indoor halls for badminton, volleyball and taekwondo.
Construction of Sports Complex in Dera Ismail Khan will include an international standard and state of the art swimming pool, pavement of roads inside the Complex, construction of sports pavilions at hockey and football grounds and a multi-purpose three-floor building with facilities for Table Tennis, Martial Arts.
In Bannu Sports Complex facilities and up-gradation of existing facilities like football ground and construction of Cricket Academy, floodlight facilities to the Stadium, squash courts are the part of the new schemes.
Work on the new schemes would be started on priority basis and directed the concerned quarters to complete it within prescribe period of time.
