Special Discussion on AIDS Control Programs by UNAIDS in Pakistan
UNAIDS supports national and provincial AIDS Control Programs to generate strategic information for evidence-based planning, preparation of AIDS strategies and reporting on national and international commitment. UNAIDS supports resource mobilization for the national response to the HIV epidemic in the country. UNAIDS also supported internal resource mobilization with technical support in the preparation of the Planning Commission for the four provincial AIDS Control modules. UNAIDS also works with in-country donors to mobilise resources for HIV response. UNAIDS is the main advocate in the UN for national AIDS response. UNAIDS focuses on targeted advocacy at policy and decision-making levels, with media and religious leaders, and increasing overall awareness on HIV and AIDS among the general population. UNAIDS has a mandate to strengthen the political commitment for an effective AIDS response in the country.
