Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements throughout the province on Eid ul Azha.

He was chairing a high-level meeting in Lahore on Sunday, during which the security arrangements for the Eid ul Azha were reviewed in detail.

He directed to take all possible measures for the protection of lives and properties of the public.

He also asked to provide all resources to maintain the peaceful atmosphere on the holy occasion.

Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that we cannot afford negligence in current sensitive times and we will have to be fully alert to fail the evil designs of the enemies of society.

He also directed to devise a comprehensive strategy for the security and strict implementation on that.

He said that every possible measure should be taken for the security of mosques, imam bargahs, parks, markets among other public places.

He said that senior officers will be responsible for the fool proof security arrangements and their implementation. He also directed to enhance the patrolling on important places and depute additional forces in the plain clothes

The Chief Minister directed the Punjab Cabinet Sub-Committee on Law and Order to check the security arrangements itself.

During the meeting, the Inspector General of Punjab Police gave a detailed briefing about the foolproof security arrangements being taken in the province on Eid ul Azha.
