UN Senior Stress Counselor in Pakistan Naima Hassan has said that mental health is inseparable from an individual's physical health.

She was speaking in Radio Pakistan's Current Affairs' programme "Perspective" in connection with World Mental Health Day on Tuesday.

Naima Hassan said that the stigma attached with the mental health or the services in this regard is a major stumbling block in the well being of the people with mental health problems. She said it was wrongly believed that a person having mental problems is totally away from the normal life. She stressed the need to address this issue at all levels and media can play a major role in this regard.

Naima Hassan said that the subject of mental health should be the part of curriculum for better understanding and creating awareness about the issue.

She emphasized to help a person with mental disorder instead of giving him names.
