Drastic changes being made to improve service of Railways: Saad
Minister for Railways Khawja Saad Rafique has said that drastic changes are being made to improve the service of department is undergoing a drastic change and its necessary to keep it abreast with the modern technologies of world.
Chief Executive Officer Telenor Micro Finance Bank Ltd. Ali Riaz Chaudhary held a meeting with Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique at Pakistan Railways Headquarters in Lahore today.
During the meeting, the CEO Telenor offered services of 75,000 outlets of easy paisa as ticketing facilitation centers for people who have no access to banks or Railways reservation offices.
Speaking on the occasion, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that Railways is undergoing a drastic change and its necessary to keep it abreast with the modern technologies of world.
He said that Pakistan Railways' passenger count has surged up to fifty million which is increasing every day.
He said that we will provide level play field to all the companies who come up with I.T solutions for passenger’s facilitation, Wi-Fi services on railway stations and trains, digitization of system and more.
Later, The Railways Minister and Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Railways Muhammad Javed Anwar constituted a committee which would work on I.T related issues and present practical solutions within a month.
