The Government has allocated three hundred and twenty billion rupees for the development of roads infrastructure in the country.
Under the annual development plan 2017-18, over one hundred and twenty three billion rupees have been allocated for completion of different sections of motorways.
This includes completion of 230 kilometer long Lahore-Abdul Hakeem section, Multan-Sukkur and Sukkur-Hyderabad section, and construction of Hakla to D. I. Khan motorway.
Ten billion rupees have been apportioned for construction of Faisalabad-Khanewal expressway and three billion rupees for Burhan-Havelian expressway.
Similarly, the Dera Ismail Khan Mughal Kot and Zhob road will be restored with funds worth 2.7 billion rupees.
Another 2.5 billion rupees will be spent for the Kuzdar and Panjgore, Hoshab Bisma, Sohrab section and Gwadar Turbat and Hoshab section.
Work on Hazara Motorway is in full swing and will become operational by end of this year.
According to an official of National Highway Authority, work on the first two packages will be completed by August while the package III will be completed by December this year.
He said fifty-nine kilometers Burhan-Havelian section of motorway forming part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will cast thirty four billion rupees.
National Highway Authority plans to hold open bidding for auction for maintenance of thirty toll plazas and Collection of toll revenue on various national highways.
Official source told APP on Sunday, that the toll plazas to be auctioned have been divided in three packages.

In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson described the reports appearing in some foreign press and media regarding deployment of Pakistani troops in Qatar as completely fabricated and baseless.
He stressed that these false reports appear to be part of a malicious campaign aimed at creating misunderstanding between Pakistan and brotherly Muslim countries in the Gulf.

The Minister said the CPEC is aimed at progress of the whole country and civil and military leadership of the country are working in perfect harmony for the completion of this monumental project.

Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb along with Chinese Minister for Culture would formally launch the Cultural Caravan from Urumqi (China) in August this year.
The 60-member troupe comprising Chinese and Pakistani artists, musicians, dancers, photographers, anthropologists, writers and filmmakers riding on 15-fully equipped vehicles would reach Gwadar in 30 days from Urumqi.
Caravan would pass through Athushi, Thumshuk, Shulay, Shefu, Akto and Tashgul in China, and Gilgit to Peshawar, Lahore, Multan, Dera Ismail Khan, Quetta, Sukkur, Karachi and Gwadar in Pakistan.
