Pakistani athlete Irfan’s ninth Guinness World record approved
Athlete Irfan Mehsood achieves his ninth Guinness World Records title for the most contact knee strikes in one minute (alternate legs). Irfan had hit 83 contact knee strikes in one minute to achieve the record. His eight world record for most two finger push-ups (two arms) in one minute carrying a 40 lb pack had also been approved. Irfan’s other Guinness World Records tiles include Most thumb push-ups (both arms) in one minute (33), Most Bo staff strikes in one minute (216) and Most full contact knee strikes in one minute (alternate legs) (83).

Pakistan has won IBSF World Under-18 Snooker Championship played in Beijing, China. In the final, Pakistan's Naseem Akhtar beat Chinese player by three frames to five.

France, Hong Kong players land in Pakistan to participate in Squash series
Players of France and Hong Kong to participate in two-day Pakistan v World-V series scheduled to be held at Mushaf Complex. According to a Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) official, the two players who had reached here include Lucas Serme (France, World No. 44) and Leo Au (Hong Kong, World No. 33). However players of Egypt, USA and England would land here on Wednesday. In a bid to revive international squash events in the country, PSF is organizing two back to back Squash Series in which World’s top ranked players would be participating. Pakistan v World-V series would be held from July 12 to 13 while Pakistan v Egypt series would be held from July 15 to 16.
Shastri frontrunner for India coaching role
Former skipper Ravi Shastri has emerged as the front-runner to be the new coach of India, but a final decision remains on hold until captain Virat Kohli has been consulted. Shastri, 55, was among five high-profile candidates interviewed on Monday for the post left vacant by ex-Test captain Anil Kumble, who resigned amid difficulties over his relationship with Kohli which he described as “untenable”.
