During a meeting with a high level Chinese delegation in Islamabad, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says development of economic zones is the most important phase of CPEC. The development of Gwadar is priority of the government and its master plan will be completed soon. The meeting reviewed the progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and preparations for 7th Joint Cooperation Committee. The Chinese delegates say every possible effort will be made to ensure the timely completion of CPEC projects. They appreciated Pakistan`s efforts in this regard.
Government focusing to facilitate small farmers: Bosan
Minister for National Food Security and Research Sikandar Hayat Bosan says government is focusing on small farmers as other progressive farmers have enough resources to enhance their income. Speaking at a three-day Mango Festival in Multan, he says government has curtailed prices of agriculture inputs which has helped in enhancing agri produce and providing relief to small growers. All resources are being utilized to remove hurdles in export of Pakistani mangoes.
ECNEC approves 11 development, welfare projects worth rs234b
The government has approved eleven development and welfare projects worth two hundred and thirty four billion rupees in the country. The approval was granted at a meeting of the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC), which met in Islamabad with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair. The projects approved yesterday include 40.8 MW Koto Hydropower Project in Lower Dir at a cost of over 13 billion rupees, enhancing Public-Private Partnerships in Sindh worth over 19 billion rupees, Integration of Health Services Delivery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at a cost of over 13 billion rupees and Peshawar Sustainable Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Project worth 49 billion rupees.
