In China , typhoon Chan-hom hit the coast south of Shanghai with winds of up to 160 kilometers per hour on Saturday.
According to state television, around one million people were evacuated and hundreds of airline flights cancelled.
The storm made landfall in Zhoushan in Zhejiang province, however there was no report of casualties.
The country's railway service said more than 100 trains between the region's cities were cancelled through Sunday.
