NAB decides to hold investigations into misappropriation of funds
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to launch investigations against politicians, contractors, and government officials for misappropriation of funds inflicting losses on national exchequer.
This decision was taken during bureau's executive board meeting chaired by NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Those against whom the inquiries will be initiated included Ex-Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board Asif Hashmi and management of ETPB; Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Ex-Vice Chancellor Federal Urdu University Sub Campus Lahore and others; officers of Allama Iqbal Open University and others; Dr. Ehsan, Vice Chancellor, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan and others; and Sheladia Associates officials and others for corruption in the construction of Barang Road in FATA.
NAB also decided to close inquiries against Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Ex-Federal Minister; officers of Civil Aviation Authority and BISP; Waseem Ahmed Ursani, Ex-Secretary Forest and others; Shahid Hussain Jatoi, Ex-Member Administration Karachi and others; and officers of NHA due to lack of incriminating evidence.
NAB rejected the "Plea Bargain" request of Seth Nisar Ahmad.
