Analysts urge world to come forward to help Afghanistan to avert humanitarian crisis; take strict notice of Indian brutalities in IIOJ&K
October 11, 2021

Ali Muhammad Khan (Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs)

Only few people warned the world about the consequences of using military power in Afghanistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan was one of them. Once again, Prime Minister Imran Khan is telling the world a way forward for peaceful and stable Afghanistan. Pakistan is emphasizing the world not to impose its agenda and policies on newly formed Afghan government but support the Afghan people and the Afghan government in order to prevent any humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country. The international support is required for the political setup in Afghanistan as per aspirations of the Afghan people. There are so many ethnicities in Afghanistan and there is need to form an inclusive government with representation of all the ethnicities. The fact is that that the world has a moral obligation to collectively work to help the Afghan people deal with a severe humanitarian and economic crisis in the war-ravaged country.

There is no ambiguity about what India is doing in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir will lead to disastrous consequences. Particularly, the BJP regime in India has broken records of worst human rights violations in IIOJ&K. Many international organizations including United Nations, international media, Amnesty International and other world bodies are exposing cruel Indian face in front of the world. If Kashmir is an integral part of India then why India is not going to the United Nations to discard the resolutions in which valley of Kashmir is clearly declared as disputed territory. The UN reports highlighted violence and discrimination targeting the members of minority groups by Indian forces including women, based on religious affiliation or social status. The decision by Narendra Modi’s recently re-elected government to remove the special status of Kashmir under the constitution is not legal, but a statement of intent and ideology and will have consequences that are difficult to predict. The OIC and other regional organizations need to play a vital role to force India to stop what it is doing with the innocent Kashmiris. The international community is also aware of the fact that despite of the worst brutalities, India failed to crush struggle of the Kashmiris.

The prevailing situation in Afghanistan is leading towards humanitarian crisis. Moreover, 50 percent of Afghan people are leading their lives below poverty line and if the world does not support Afghan government financially, the number of people below the poverty line can soar to 90 percent in coming years. The international community has no option but to engage with the Taliban as it leads the effort to build peace and stability in Afghanistan. The world powers should continue providing financial aid and assistance to the Taliban government. If the international community ignores Afghans, they will remain in isolation. Such isolation will have bad consequences, which will not be in anyone’s interest. The international community should engage with and help the Afghan Taliban. Pakistan is urging the world time and again to support Afghanistan in this crucial time otherwise it may once again be hub of terrorist organizations. There can also be an issue of refugee crises and the neighboring countries will be affected due to this. The peaceful and stable Afghanistan is critically important for Pakistan and the region. The world should take immediate action to ensure that necessary aid reaches Afghans facing hunger and collapsing health services.

Whatever India is doing in Kashmir is completely reciprocating. The Indian policies have resulted in increased anger among the Kashmiri people against India. The situation is Kashmir is getting worse and is completely out of the control of Indian government. The Kashmiri people have a miserable existence in the world’s heaviest militarized zone as there is one solider deployed for every ten Kashmiri citizens. The Indian Government has attempted to forcefully convert the majority of Kashmir Valley residents away from their religion of Islam and its practices. Since the abrogation of Kashmir’s special status, the number of armed forces deployed in Kashmir was doubled. The international community, including the United Nations and its relevant human rights machinery and civil society organizations to fulfill their obligations towards Kashmiris by playing their part to end the Indian rule of tyranny and oppression. Modi government continues to obliterate Kashmiri indigenous identity due to differences in religion, culture, ethnicity and political views. It is the high time that OIC must play a vital role to end the miseries of the innocent Kashmiris. The Indian government in order to divert world's attention from its internal issues, adopt the policies of leveling allegations against Pakistan in order to defame it. The world must have to take strict notice of Indian policies and concrete measures must be taken to stop India to stop use of force in Kashmir.
