Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed all provincial governments to allocate land for the construction of forty-six new hospitals.
On the directions of Prime Minister, the Federal Government has written letters to the Chief Secretaries of the four Provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad Capital Territory Administration in this regard.
These hospitals will be fully funded federal hospitals with state of the art facilities and will be designed by international consultants.
The proposed sites in Punjab for 500 bed hospitals are Rajanpur, Jhang, Bhakkar, Sadiqabad and Rawalpindi while 250 bed hospitals will be constructed in Burewala, Ahmedpur East, Kot Addu, Taunsa, Sahiwal ,Sargodha, Pasroor and Layyah.
In Sindh, 500 bed hospitals will be constructed in Jacobabad, Mirpur Khas and Badin while 250 bed hospitals will be established in Islam Kot, Nausharo Feroze and Meher districts.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, land will be allocated for 500 bed hospitals in Haripur and Charsadda; 250 bed hospitals in Batgram, Hangu and Chitral, while 100 bed hospitals will be constructed in Garhi Habibullah and Kaghan. Similar, a 250-bed hospital will be set up in FATA.
In Balochistan, 100 bed hospitals will be constructed in Hub, Noshki, Chaman and Punjgur; 250 bed hospitals in Khuzdar, Loralai and Sibi while land for 500 bed hospital will be allocated in Quetta.
Similarly, land will be allocated for construction of different capacity bed of hospitals in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Land will also be allocated for three hospitals in the Federal Capital.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed to complete these 46 hospitals before the end of the tenure of the present government.
A meeting of the Monetary and Fiscal Policies Coordination Board chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar was held in Islamabad today.
Briefing the meeting on the economic situation, Secretary Finance Waqar Masood said economic indicators are showing good signs and the economy is moving in right direction.
He said the growth momentum in large scale manufacturing is continuing, mainly supported by better energy supplies, lower commodity prices and accommodative polices.
However, the meeting expressed concern over falling exports.
Addressing the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the government has initiated a number of measures to boost the country's exports.
Security forces killed four terrorists during a combing operation at Gayandari on the border of Balochistan and Punjab today.

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch has said that FATA will be brought at par with the developed areas of the country before its integration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In an interview with PTV tonight, he said that 110 billion rupees will be spent in FATA every year for its development. He said 30 percent of this amount will be directly utilized by the local governments and the remaining amount will be used for rehabilitation and reconstruction in FATA.

Hujjaj will offer their Zuhar, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajar prayers at Mina and move to Arafat after sunrise tomorrow.
They will offer Zohar and Asr prayers together and listen to "Hajj Khutba at Masjid Nimra.
They will stay in Arafat till sunset spending the day in prayers and repenting on their sins. The stay at Arafat on 9th of Zil Hijjah is the main ritual of Hajj.
