Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says government has invested billions of rupees in the energy sector to end load shedding and provide cheap electricity to consumers.

He was talking to leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, who called on him in Islamabad on Saturday. 

Prime minister said government is making all out efforts to resolve power and gas shortages in the country .

He said the confidence of the international financial markets in Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory is a proof of successful policies for attaining long term economic stability.

Nawaz Sharif said increase in tax revenue through tax administration, increase in Foreign Exchange Reserves to over twenty billion dollars and reforms in energy sector have significantly contributed towards economic stability in the country .

He added that the improvement in law and order situation has been realized by the business community at domestic and international level.

The Prime Minister said the ultimate aim of the present government behind all these endeavors was to improve standard of living of the people.

About the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor the Prime Minister said completion of the projects would be a game changer for the whole region.

The leader of House appreciated the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister and said that his agenda of development will steer the country out of the problems it is facing.
