At least four terrorists and one security forces' personnel were killed in a combing operation in Rajanpur, Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said today. Numerous absconders were apprehended from district Rajanpur's Gayandari area with a heavy cache of arms and ammunition. Gayandari is located on the border of Balochistan and Punjab. In May this year, the military’s top brass approved timeline and operational details of countrywide ‘combing operations’ against terrorists and militant groups in a Corps Commanders Conference at the General Headquarters.

Billions of rupees are being invested to eliminate Energy Crisis

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says government has invested billions of rupees in the energy sector to end load shedding and provide cheap electricity to consumers. He was talking to leader of the House in Senate Raja Zafar ul Haq who called on him in Islamabad today. Prime minister said government is making all out efforts to resolve power and gas shortages in the country. He said the confidence of the international financial markets in Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory is a proof of successful policies for attaining long term economic stability. Nawaz Sharif said increase in tax revenue through tax administration, increase in Foreign Exchange Reserves to over twenty billion dollars and reforms in energy sector have significantly contributed towards economic stability in the country. He added that the improvement in law and order situation has been realized by the business community at domestic and international level. The Prime Minister said the ultimate aim of the present government behind all these endeavors was to improve standard of living of the people.

Tahir-ul-Qadri has ruled out to march in Raiwind


Pakistan Awwami Tehrik Chief Tahir-Ul-Qadri has said that even though his followers had tried to persuade him to announce the march to Raiwind, he has decided against it in the capacity as the leader of the party.“I am unanimously announcing that we will not launch any sort of attack even on our worst enemies nor will the party even block the streets leading to their residence,” Qadri remarked while speaking to journalists.
