Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the ministries of Finance and National Food Security to prepare a relief package for farmers in consultation with the provincial governments.     

He was chairing a high-level meeting in Islamabad on Thursday, which reviewed the problems of the agriculture sector.    

The meeting deliberated upon the relief package to ease out the difficulties being faced by farmers especially the small farmers.

The meeting discussed various measures to reduce the cost of agriculture inputs and to increase per acre yield of major crops.

The relief package will be unveiled by the Prime Minister next week.

Chairing another meeting of National Task Force on Polio eradication in Islamabad on Thursday, the Prime Minister expressed firm resolve to eliminate polio in the shortest possible time.

He said the country has achieved remarkable success in Polio eradication campaign.

He lauded coordination among the provincial chief ministers for conducting successful polio eradication campaigns in their respective provinces.
