Water disputes with India part of dialogue processâ€š Senate informed
Raja Zafar-ul-Haq says no compromise on water issues with India.
The Senate today (Monday) passed a unanimous resolution calling upon the government to include all national water disputes with India in the future composite dialogue.
The resolution was moved by Syeda Sughra Imam.
Speaking on the occasion‚ Leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said the water disputes with India have already been made part of the composite dialogue process.
He said that water is the lifeline and without it no development is possible in any sector. He said no compromise will be made on water issues with India.
The House‚ through another unanimously passed resolution‚ recommended to the government to make necessary arrangements for vocational training of prisoners in jails and educational facilities for jailed children.
The chair directed that after the 18th amendment the subjects of education and prisons have been devolved to the provinces. Therefore‚ the Senate recommends the provincial governments to carry out necessary steps in this regard.
Foreign Minister of Kosovo Enver Hoxhaj visited Senate today (Monday) and witnessed the proceedings of the House.
He was warmly welcomed by the Chair‚ Leader of the House Raja Zafar-ul-Haq and other members.
Briefly speaking on the occasion‚ Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said people of Kosovo have sacrificed a lot for their independence. He expressed full sympathies with their cause and mission.
