A briefing was given regarding the pace of work on the under execution Sahiwal Coal power project in Lahore today (Monday).

Speaking on the occasion‚ Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the government is taking concrete steps to overcome the energy crisis on war footings.

He said that two coal power plants are being installed in Sahiwal with a power generation capacity of 660-Megawatt each.

He said in all six cites have been pinpointed in the province for installing coal-based power generation projects.

He directed the concerned authorities to conduct survey for installing more coal-based power plants in Jhang‚ Rahim Yar Khan and Haveli‚ Bahadur Shah.
