Obama to send hundreds military trainers to Iraq
Officials say the plan would also include establishing new training base in Anbar province.
President Barack Obama will decide this week on a plan to send hundreds of additional military trainers to Iraq.
According to US officials, the new set of up to 500 personnel would join the 3,000 trainers and advisers Obama authorized last year after the militants seized large parts of northern and western Iraq.
Officials said the plan would also include establishing a new training base in Anbar province.
Iraqi security forces supported by militias have been trying to reclaim areas near Ramadi, the provincial capital, since it fell to the militants last month.
