Three-day anti polio drive begins in KP, tribal agencies
Special security measures have been taken to ensure security of polio teams.
A three-day anti-polio campaign began in twelve districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two agencies of FATA on Monday morning.
A spokesman of Provincial Health Department told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent that the districts where children are being administered anti polio vaccine include Peshawar, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Shangla, Swat, Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Chitral. Similarly, anti polio drive was also launched in two tribal agencies of FATA including Khyber and South Waziristan.
More than three point two million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign.
Special measures have been adopted for security of the polio teams.
Meanwhile, a six-day special anti-polio campaign in nine union councils of Khairpur district has also been started.
Five-day anti-polio campaign also began in Gilgit, Diamer, Ghizer and villages of Shingo, Gultri and Minimarg today.
