The fourth and fifth phases of Prime Minister`s Youth Laptop scheme start today.         


Two hundred thousand laptops will be distributed among students of public sector higher education institutions across the country.


Students enrolled in Ph. D , MS, M Phil, Masters and Undergraduate courses are eligible to apply.


Disabled students are also placed in the reserved quota to benefit from the scheme.


Students can register their profiles with HEC by 30th of September.

Special bench of the Supreme Court had formed  Joint Investigation Team to probe Panama Paper issue.



Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says the nation has rendered unlimited sacrifices for freedom of the judiciary.


Addressing PML-N workers in Narowal, he said that the opponents want a decision through coercive means instead of the provisions of law and justice in Panama Paper case.


Ahsan Iqbal said Panama Papers issue is a political agenda.


He said PML-N is synonymous to development and progress. Every significant development undertaken in this country was initiated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.



The construction work on 285 kilometer long  Hakla, Dera Ismail Khan Motorway is in full swing.


According to Planning Ministry sources, the project, which is part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor Western Route will be completed next year at a cost of 129 billion rupees.


The government has also allocated fifteen billion for 106 kilometer long Basima-Khuzdar Highway.


Similarly, an amount of fifteen billion rupees has been allocated for land acquisition and widening of Jaglot-Skardu Road.


The government also earmarked over twenty-one billion rupees for construction of 118 km long Thahkot Havelian Road (Phase-1).


200 million rupees have been allocated for the construction of Gilgit-Shandoor-Chitral Chakdara Road and two hundred million rupees for  Mirpur-Mangla-Muzaffarabad-Mansehra Road.



A three-day anti polio campaign began in twelve districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two tribal agencies today.


More than three point two million children up to five years of age are being administered anti-polio drops in Peshawar, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Batagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Shangla, Swat, Upper & Lower Dir, Chitral districts, Khyber and South Waziristan Agencies. 


Meanwhile, a six-day special anti-polio campaign in nine union councils of Khairpur district also started today.   


Over eighteen thousand children are being vaccinated against polio. 


Special security measures have been taken to ensure security of polio teams. 



Pakistan Peoples Party has won  PS-114 Karachi and Gilgit -Baltistan Legislative Assembly-4 by elections.


According to unofficial results, Saeed Ghani of PPP  received 23840 votes, while  Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan's Kamran Tessori got 18106 votes. Over all polling process remained peaceful.


Meanwhile, Javed Hussain of PPP secured 6838 votes while Muhammad Baqir of Islamai Tehreke Pakistan received 5988 votes in GBLA-4 Hunza Nagar-1 by-polls.



In response to unprovoked Indian firing from across the Line of Control, Pakistan Army has destroyed two Indian army posts and killed four troops.


A press release issued by ISPR says Pakistan Army will protect civil population against unprovoked Indian aggression at all cost.


The ISPR has also released a video, showing the two Indian army posts being destroyed.


It may be recalled that five civilians were martyred as a result of unprovoked Indian firing from across the Line of Control on Saturday.



Pakistan and Turkey will sign  Free Trade Agreement on 14th of next month to enhance bilateral trade.


Telling to APP,  a senior official of Ministry of Commerce said that the two countries reached the agreement in the seventh round of negotiations.


He said that the two sides also discussed the specific sectors including textile sector and exchanged provisional lists for a final agreement during the negotiation.

Chinese newspaper "Global Times" has urged New Delhi not to use Dalai Lama card amid border spat with Beijing.


Quoting Indian media, the newspaper reported that it is the first time the Tibetan exile administration in northern India has flown its flag on the shores of Bangong Lake in Laddakh.


The Tibetan government-in-exile is based in the Indian town of Dharamsala and its flag is a pro-independence symbol.


New Delhi publicly promises not to allow any anti-China political activities by Tibetan exiles on Indian territory but it has long used the Tibet question as a diplomatic card in dealing with Beijing.

Tillerson said "it is necessary for Russia to take the first step to de-escalate the situation in eastern part of Ukraine.



Around thirty Muslim leaders from across the Europe held a rally against terrorism  at the site of a deadly truck attack in Berlin in December.


The event was part of a "March of Muslims Against Terrorism".


The Muslim leaders, on the occasion, held a prayer for the victims of the deadly truck attack. They were joined by local Muslim, Christian and Jewish representatives.


Around sixty Imams are scheduled to join the tour of European cities suffered by deadly terrorist assaults, before returning to Paris on Friday.

In reply, West Indies achieved the target in 18.3 overs.


West Indies' E Lewis, who scored unbeaten 125 runs from sixty two balls, was declared player of the match.
