JIT to submit final report today

The Joint Investigation Team will submit its final report in Panama Papers case to the Special Bench of Supreme Court today. Special bench of the Supreme Court had formed Joint Investigation Team to probe Panama Papers issue.

Background:

The JIT, formed on May 6 in light of the Supreme Court’s April 20 judgment in the Panama case, was given 60 days to complete its probe. However, since the original deadline was falling on Friday, and JIT took a day off on Eid, it was decided that July 10 would be the deadline to submit its final report. During the course of the investigation, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appeared before the JIT once, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif once, Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of the prime minister once while Hussain Nawaz, elder son of the prime minister six times and younger son Hassan Nawaz thrice.

Topic: Pakistan destroys 2 Indian Posts, kills 4 enemy soldiers

In response to unprovoked Indian firing from across the Line of Control, Pakistan Army has destroyed two Indian army posts and killed four soldiers. A press release issued by ISPR says Pakistan Army has befittingly responded to Indian unprovoked firing, causing losses in men and material. The press release said that Pakistan Army will protect civil population against unprovoked Indian aggression at all cost. The ISPR has also released a video, showing the two Indian army posts being destroyed. It may be recalled that five civilians were martyred as a result of unprovoked Indian firing from across the Line of Control on Saturday.
