Occupied Kashmir: complete shutdown protest strike on 2nd consecutive day today

In occupied Kashmir‚ a complete shutdown protest strike is being observed on the second consecutive day today.
The strike is part of a three-day strike to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of martyred liberation leaders‚ Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.
Call for the shutdown has been given by pro-freedom leaders‚ organizations.
It is aimed at pressing the demand for transfer of mortal remains of the martyred leaders from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail to the occupied Kashmir for a decent burial.
Meanwhile‚ the police has arrested over 500 Hurriyet leaders and activists have been arrested during police actions while curfew has been impose to strict movement of people and transport to stop protests in the territory.
Police injured dozens demonstrators using brute force in Srinagar‚ Bandipore‚ Baramulla and Shopian districts.
Police during house raids arrested liberation leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Malik‚ Shabbir Ahmad Shah‚ Syed Ali Gilani‚ Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi‚ Bilal Ghani Lone‚ Maulvi Abbas Ansari‚Zafar Akbar Butt and others.
The actions have been taken to foil conducting of different programmes in connection with the martyrdom anniversaries of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.
