Director General (DG) Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Samina Parvez has said that 100 KW medium wave digital transmitter will be installed at Muzaffarabad for increasing the listening range  of Azad Kashmir Radio to highlight Kashmir cause and promoting Kashmiri culture, civilization and development of the State.

She was talking to journalists after inaugurating the renovated technical block of Azad Kashmir Radio Muzaffarabad today.    

The Director General said 20 FM transmitters are being installed all over Pakistan for Sotal Quran channel for broadcasting uninterrupted 18 hours transmission out of which one has already been installed at Islamabad.   

Samina Parvez said that five medium wave transmitters have been put on air after maintenance and repair which is a big achievement of PBC.

Responding a question the Director General said that Radio is still an effective and powerful medium to reach masses even in the far-flung and remote areas of the country.

Earlier, she inaugurated the newly renovated technical block of Radio Muzaffarabad and went round different studios.

Later, the Director General PBC visited Radio Pakistan Abbottabad on Wednesday evening.

In a live interview with FM-93 Radio Abbottabad, she said listeners of Hazara region will benefit from the up-gradation of Islamabad and Peshawar digital transmitters.
