In Iraq, fifteen people including nine soldiers were killed in fresh wave of violence in and around Baghdad on Wednesday.

Nine soldiers were killed and twenty-two injured in a battle between Iraqi forces and Islamic state fighters in the city of Samarra.

Three people were killed and five injured when a bomb went off near a market in Madain town.

Two more persons were killed in a bomb explosion in southern Baghdad while one soldier was killed in a roadside bombing in Abu Ghraib.
