China and South Korea will impose tougher sanctions on North Korea if it carries out nuclear or long-range missile tests.

This was stated by South Korea's chief nuclear envoy Kim Hong-kyun after a meeting with China's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei in Seoul on Monday.

He said both sides also agreed that an even stronger UN resolution will have to be adopted in the event of additional weapon tests by Pyongyang.
