The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution urging Russia to withdraw its military forces from Crimea and end its temporary occupation of Ukraine’s territory.

In the 193-Member Assembly, 63 countries voted in favour while 19 voted against. Sixty-six abstained. Forty-five countries did not vote.

The resolution expressed grave concern over the progressive militarization of Crimea by the Russia as the occupying power.

The resolution also expressed concern at Russia’s actions in parts of the Black Sea surrounding Crimea and in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait.
