Russia, KP Govt sign MoU for preservation of Archaeological sites

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has signed a memorandum of understanding with Russia for identification and preservation of archaeological sites in the province.

The MoU was signed by Director Archeology Abdul Samad and Director General State Museum of Russia Alexander Sedov in Peshawar today.

Minister for Tourism Muhammad Atif Khan who was also present on the occasion said under the MoU, Russia will provide technical, financial and professional assistance for research and excavation of archaeological sites.

He said the present government is trying its level best to promote tourism to further improve image of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Alexander Sedov said Pakistan is rich in archaeological heritage, attractive monuments and scenic valleys.

He said Russia will cooperate with Pakistan in projects relating to archeological sites.
