China says it welcomes electric vehicles from around the world to enter its market, bringing in diversified products and services.
Minister of science and technology Wan Gang addressing a news conference on the sidelines of National People’s Congress session in Beijing today (Saturday) said China and the US have a close cooperation in the sector of electric vehicles.
Wan said cooperation between his ministry and the US Department of Energy focuses on three key sectors, and electric vehicle is one of them. He said there is no obstacle in terms of the technological innovation cooperation between the two sides.
Our correspondent from Beijing reports that China is focusing on introducing clean energy vehicles bringing down pollution in major cities significantly. Sales volume of new energy vehicles in China reached seven hundred and seventy thousand last year. By the end of 2017 the number of new energy vehicles in China was more than1.6 million, which accounts for half of the world’s total electric vehicles.
