Indian police arrested Muhammad Yasin Malik around midnight, yesterday, from his residence in Srinagar and shifted him to some unknown destination while Syed Ali Gilani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq were already under house detention.
The puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in the jurisdiction of Nowhatta, Mahraj Gunj, Safa Kadal, Khanyar, Maisuma and Rainawari police stations in Srinagar to stop people from holding anti-India demonstrations.
Meanwhile, massive protests erupted after Indian troops launched a cordon and search operation in Reban area of Sopore, today.
People from adjacent villages of Hadipora and Chetlora tried to march towards Reban. Indian police and troops used brute force to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.
