Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front condemns arrest of Yasin Malik
In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has strongly condemned the arrest of its Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in a raid by Indian police on his residence and termed it frustration of the authorities.
The JKLF spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Muhammad Yasin Malik was scheduled to lead a protest sit-in today against denial of political space to resistance leaders, spree of arrests, restrictions and ban on all kinds of political activities and against promoting religious hatred in Jammu and Kashmir.
People staged anti-India demonstrations in Pathan area of Pulwama district after a vehicle carrying Indian armed forces’ personnel hit and injured a 4-year-old child.
Indian police used brute force and fired teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators.
Meanwhile, protest strike was observed in Lal Chowk, Maisuma, Gowkadal and Kokerbazar areas of Srinagar against the highhandedness of Indian police.
On the other hand, the crackdown operation continued on the second day, today, in Kungun area of Shopian district.
