Govt making efforts to enhance exports: Senate told
Commerce Minister informed the House that Russia has shown interest in import of agri-products including rice from Pakistan.
The Senate was told on Friday that the government is making all out efforts to enhance exports of Pakistani products to the Russian Federation.
Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan told the House during question hour that focused efforts are being made to enhance exports of agriculture products including fruits and vegetables to the Russian Federation.
He said recently a thirty-member delegation of food items exporters visited Russian Federation and participated in "World Food Moscow" festival.
Pakistani products were introduced in a big way in the Russian market and the Russian Federation has shown interest in import of agri-products including rice from Pakistan.
He pointed out that major export items to Russia are cotton fabrics, fruit preparations, synthetic fabrics, sports goods, hosiery and textile material.
