The Government allocates over 12.8 billion rupees for the next fiscal year for the health sector, 6.1% higher than the outgoing year
For the Public Health Services four hundred and thirty nine million rupees have been allocated.
According to details, 10.8 billion rupees are apportioned for up gradation and improvement of hospital services. Health Administration has been allocated 1.55 billion while twenty nine million rupees have been earmarked for medical products, appliances and equipment.
Government created 25,000 posts for women in public sector
Government has created 25,000 posts for women at different tiers besides 70 percent jobs in primary education during year 2016-17. The jobs were created after lifting ban on recruitment whereas women's employment is encouraged, and the government has announced a 10 percent quota for women in public sector employment, Punjab raised this to 15 percent and Sindh to 25 percent. According to Economic Survey 2016-17, government has taken number of steps for women empowerment in the country.

The Punjab government has decided to issue ‘Zameen Sehat Cards’ scheme among the farmers of the province to improve the agricultural production and fertility of the land.
Railways to receive 23 GE locomotives by July
Pakistan Railways will receive 23 locomotives from United States Company General Electric by July this year. According to official sources, General Electric had already delivered 32 locomotives to Pakistan Railways as part of the agreement signed between the two sides two years back. This week, Ministry of Railways signed another agreement with General Electric to add 20 more locomotives to its fleet.
