Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal says political stability is imperative for sustained and inclusive growth in the country. 


In an interview, he said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan is making rapid progress in every sector.   


Ahsan Iqbal said several energy projects are underway to meet growing demand of electricity in the country.



The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says PTI Chief Imran Khan should come out from the world of dreams and face the reality.


In a statement she said Anti Terrorist Court, Election Commission  and petition filed by Hanif Abbasi are in pursuit of him.   


She said attacks on Parliament, PTV, PM House and democracy are the worst achievements of Imran Khan.


The Minister said PTI Chief will have to face reaction of the people in 2018 general elections.





Spokesman to the Prime Minister Dr. Musadik Malik says the government is expecting fair and unbiased investigations from the Joint Investigation Team  probing into the Panama Papers.


Talking to a news channel, he said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had presented himself and his family for accountability.



Pakistan’s High Commissioner to United Kingdom Syed Ibn e Abbas has called for collective efforts at international level to fight terrorism.


Talking to PTV, he said United Kingdom and Pakistan hold unanimous stance on terrorism. 


The High Commissioner hoped that strategic relations between the two countries would grow further in future. 


He said UK investors were looking at China Pakistan Economic Corridor as business opportunity.



Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Aizaz Chaudhry says border management with Afghanistan is imperative for defeating terrorism.


He was talking to Democrat Representative from New York and ranking member of the House of Appropriations Committee, Nita Lowey.


The ambassador briefed her on Pakistan's economic development, counter-terrorism efforts and ongoing reconstruction work in FATA.


Aizaz Chaudhry said Pakistan has made phenomenal progress in improving security and economy over last three years.

The Senate will meet at 10:30 a.m while National Assembly at 11.00 am .



Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria has said Shanghai Cooperation Organization membership will help strengthen Pakistan's connectivity with the region.


Talking to a news channel he said the SCO platform will provide Pakistan a good opportunity to play its role in addressing the challenges being faced by the region.


He said SCO will also help Pakistan improve its relations with Central Asian States.



Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali has urged the the International Court of Justice to expedite hearing of Kulbhushan Jadhav case.


He made the demand during a meeting with President of the Court Ronny Abraham.


The Attorney General informed the court of Pakistan's intent to appoint an ad hoc judge who will sit on the bench of the court for all proceedings in this case, including the substantive hearing.



In Occupied Kashmir complete shutdown, marked by anti-India demonstrations, will be observed on Friday, against the killing of Aadil Farooq Magray.


Call for the protest demonstrations has been given by the joint resistance leadership.


The protests are also aimed at denouncing the biased reporting by Indian TV channels on Kashmir and the raids of  National Investigation Agency on the residences of pro-freedom leaders, activists and businessmen.


A march will also be conducted from South Kashmir areas to the residence of Aadil Farooq in Shopian to express solidarity with the bereaved family.



Qatar Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani has said his country favours diplomacy to resolve the crisis with Saudi Arabia and other states.


The emir of Kuwait is trying to mediate the row, carrying out shuttle diplomacy between Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.



China and Russia have agreed to maintain regional security and stability through promoting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's influence in the international and regional affairs.


The agreement came after a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin ahead of the SCO summit in Kazakhstan.


Both head of states pledged to promote the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.


Chinese President urged the SCO to play a bigger role in Afghanistan's peace and reconciliation process.


The two heads of state also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and on the Korean Peninsula, as well as on other international and regional issues.




In the United Kingdom, exit polls forecast hung parliament, as ruling Conservative Party is losing majority.


The poll indicates the Conservatives will win 314 seats and Labour 266, the Lib Dems 14, UKIP none and the SNP 34  of the 650 seats in House of Commons.


A party needs 326 seats to have an overall majority.


Final results are expected till evening.


The pound fell by more than two cents to $1.2717 against the dollar following the exit polls results.

Simona Halep beat the second-seeded Czech.Karolina Pliskova 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 in the semi finals.


Ostapenko won with a 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 over Swiss Timea Bacsinszky.


The final will be played on Saturday and title winner will be awarded the cash prize of thirty six million euros.
