PML-N believes in supremacy of law & PM presented his family for accountability: NA informed
The National Assembly resumed its session in Islamabad on Friday with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.
Taking floor at the outset of the proceedings, Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah raised the issue of maltreatment with Shaikh Rashid Ahmad outside the Parliament House on Thursday.
He said it is the responsibility of the custodian of the House to safeguard the rights of the elected representatives.
He said the issue should be thoroughly investigated and measures should be taken to stop such happenings in future.
He also raised the issue of arrest of Jamshed Dasti.
Speaking on occasion, Minister of State for Interior Balighur Rehman said that the person involved in the incident has been arrested and FIR registered against him in Secretariat Police Station.
He said he was produced before the Court today and further investigations are underway.
He said we have full confidence in our courts and the law will also take action in this case.
Talking about Joint Investigation Team probing the Panama Papers case, Balighur Rehman said that PML-N believes in supremacy of law and the Prime Minister has presented his family for the accountability.
Speaking about the issue of arrest of Jamshed Dasti, the Speaker said that production order will be issued on the request of the Jamshed Dasti.
The House will now meet on Monday afternoon at four.
