PM-MESSAGE:

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says Pakistan provides women with equal opportunities and an enabling environment to serve the country in every field.

 

In his message on 50th death anniversary of Madar-e-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah, he said the way Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah stood beside her brother Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah during the entire freedom movement is a great example of perseverance and steadfastness.

 

The prime minister said for her struggle, we draw lessons of sacrifice, and unconditional support for a noble cause.

 

Nawaz Sharif said we should recommit ourselves to achieving a Pakistan envisioned by our founding father.                          

         

SCHEME:

Fourth and fifth phases of Prime Minister`s Youth Laptop scheme begins on Monday.   

 

Two hundred thousand laptops will be distributed among students of public sector higher education institutions across the country.

 

Students enrolled in Ph. D, MS, M Phil, Masters and Undergraduate courses are eligible to apply.

 

Special quota is reserved for students pursuing two or three-year Diploma of Associate Engineering programmes at government colleges and the students of intermediate, graduate and post-graduate programmes at public sector colleges or universities of FATA and Islamabad Capital Territory.

 

Disabled students are also placed in the reserved quota to benefit from the scheme.

 

Students can register their profiles by 30th of September at pmnls.hec.gov.pk.

                  

RAILWAYS:

Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique says Karachi-Peshawar Railway Line will be upgraded under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

 

In a tweet message, he said that a high level delegation of China National Railway will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday to finalize terms and conditions of the upgradation.

 

The Minister said that after upgradation of the Railway Line, the speed of trains will reach up to one hundred sixty kilometers per hour.

 

He said that all railway crossings will be eliminated by underpasses and flyovers.

               

MOTORWAY

The construction work on Sukkur-Multan section of Karachi-Lahore Motorway (M-9) is in full swing at a cost of two hundred billion rupees. 

 

Our Karachi correspondent reports that 1152 kilometers long motorway connecting Karachi and Gwadar ports with China, Afghanistan and Central Asian states will be completed by end of next year.

 

The first phase of M-9 has already been completed.

            

BLAST:

One security personnel was martyred and another injured in a bomb blast in Suran Darra area of Mohmand Agency on Sunday afternoon.

 

The injured has been shifted to the hospital.

 

APHC:

In Occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership says the authorities have turned Kashmir into a war zone on the first death anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani.

 

The resistance leaders, in a statement in Srinagar said, the paranoia and panic that has gripped the territory on the martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani is an acknowledgment that even his memories are a threat to the regime despite its huge military control.

 

DAL KHALSA:

Meanwhile, Amritsar-based Sikh organization Dal Khalsa has paid glowing tributes to Burhan Wani on his first martyrdom anniversary.

 

In a statement in Amritsar, Dal Khalsa leaders H S Dhami and Kanwar Pal Singh said martyrdom of Burhan Wani has infused a new life in freedom struggle in Occupied Kashmir.

 

They urged the world powers to break their silence, rise above their commercial interests and help the Kashmir's get their right to self determination.

 

MOSUL:

In Iraq, the government forces are poised to take full control of Mosul city..

 

Thousands of Iraqi security forces, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, Arab tribesmen and militiamen, supported by US-led coalition warplanes have been involved in the battle to retake Mosul.

                   

EGYPT:

In Egypt, security forces have killed 14 terrorists in an encounter in the country's northeast on Sunday.

ICC:
