Unprovoked Indian firing at LoC leaves another 3 civilians dead: DG SAARC
Pakistan has summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh and condemned further unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian occupation forces in Chirikot and Satwal Sectors on Saturday.
Director General SAARC Dr. Mohammad Faisal said the unprovoked firing was resulted in additional shahadats of another three civilians and injuring one other.
He said deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights and humanitarian laws.
The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement; investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the Line of Control.
The Director General said UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan should be allowed to play its role as mandated by the UN Security Council resolutions.
He also said Indian attempts to deflect international attention from worsening situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir due to its repressive measures, by heating up the LoC, shall fail.
