UN Resident Coordinator in Islamabad Neil Buhne has said Pakistani youth can contribute a lot in economic, cultural, and social growth of the country.  He said this during an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel on the occasion of International Youth Day being observed across the globe on Wednesday. Neil Buhne said youth can play a vital role in peace building as young people are more open to new thinking and new approaches. He said that the young women of Pakistan can also prove their mettle, if enabling environment is provided. Neil Buhne said that UN institutions and organizations are engaging young Pakistani women in sectors like health and education. He said young Pakistanis are the best in introducing innovative ideas.

Sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces to bring peace, stability in the country; PM lauds security forces’ sacrifices in the fight against terrorism

Four security personnel, including a Major sacrificed their lives while foiling a devastating terrorist activity at Sherotkai, Timergara in Dir.  Major Ali Salman of intelligence agency along with his team conducted an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) against a terrorist hideout in the area in the wee hours today. One of two terrorists present in hideout exploded himself, while the other was killed in exchange of fire.  The martyred security personnel include Major Ali Salman, HavaldarGhulamNazir, HavaldarAkhtar and Sepoy Abdul Karim. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expresses grief over martyrdom of army personnel, including Major Ali Salman at Timergara.
